Roadkill UV Tool – Standalone UVW Unwrapping For Your 3D Assets

Roadkill Standalone ScreenshotThis program is awesome. Based on parts of the Blender 3D code base, Roadkill UV Tool is so good at what it does it will sicken you over how much time you’ve probably spent unwrapping your model elements in the past. Yes, I know, that sounds like marketing. I pull chains not. This program is great because of one very important thing that is hard to find in the 3D artist’s toolbox: Simplicity.

It only has a few different things you can do: Load a model, pick some edges, tap ‘c’ to cut those edges, and watch the evil 3D duck goat wizardry take place on the UV view panel just to the right of your 3D view-port. Cut something you didn’t mean to cut? W. You got it, Einstein: Weld.

It’s not new on the scene, but you guys deserve to know about it if you don’t already have this monster secretly hidden away while you swear three ways from Sunday to your boss that you pelt unwrapped that purple man staff, painstakingly, over the course of a week locked alone in your office. You unwrapped it in 5 minutes and you know it, can’t fool me. I can see lies.

It is worth the download, and this short walk-through of all it is capable of is worth a watch:

DropBox Download Is Worth Your Download

DropBox Rocks Lots

DropBox Rocks Lots

DropBox is a simple way to share your files. You drop them into a public folder on your desktop, copy the link, and share. It can’t be easier. DropBox offers you 2GB of free space to start with, and that doesn’t run out. If you are running out of room in your DropBox, you simply delete some files from it and gain it back – it’s not bandwidth clock based, only storage, which I found to be the #1 reason I decided to use this program. When you’re modding or otherwise sharing files often, you need something like this to save some clicks.

Thanks to my recent DropBox download, I never have to decide “Will I FTP this or use some crap make-you-wait uploading service?” – I simply drop filles into my Public folder, Right-Click them, and copy their DropBox Download Link, it can’t be more simple. Try it out at GetDropBox and you can help me to increase my space, too – yes indeed, along with offering paid memberships, free users who like the program enough to start telling people about it are rewarded with 250mb extra each time someone signs up to DropBox, downloads the application, and uploads their first file. I am pretty amazed by it, I had wondered about something like this without having to open up my shared folders to the world – DropBox answers that need of mine, perhaps it can answer yours.

Already use DropBox? Let me know – you people visit and read all the articles, but you don’t say a word, I am interested in what you think, if you thought I’m not ;)
